New Ferrari California

Here's Ferrari's latest. I don't like the styling. Looks like a fancy Mazda or something.

People buy Ferraris for their performance first, looks second.

I would say more for their exclusivity 1st. Everything else is secondary.

There are some cars that are much, much cheaper and not as exclusive, but handle better than some Ferraris.

Automotive stylist are always going to be more critical on looks.:);)

Ferrari

The frame on this thing is ok but I would sooner invest in an older model.

Don't agree...Italian cars are for styling, British Cars were always at the mechanic, and German Cars for engineering and performance.

From my days on the track, most guys that could afford the Ferraris and Lambos needed to take some driving lessons. They could floor the cars, but they didn't know how to turn.

...and the Maserati drivers were typically sitting in the ditch.

I couldn't agree more Benzgirl. You are 110% right.:D

The best looking Benz of all time though is the 1955 300SL Gullwing. I love that car.:)

ETA: Dr. Ferdinand Porsche is a great example of pure German engineering and performance.

I like the older models better too. I definitely don't think this is the best looking Ferrari, but I read that Ferrari is aware of that. They're just adding the California to its range because Ferrari knows that there are a new set of buyers out there, and (according to Ferrari) their customer emphasis is on luxury. I guess they feel it will help the company grow because most buyers won't be trading in their existing cars.

I think eventually this car will grow on me though. The 612 Scaglietti did, and when that car 1st came out, I thought it was hideous. I love it now.
