University of Idaho?
How strict are your grade requirements for those out of high school?
|
I don't know exactly how all chapters treat grades. I do know that some are really adamant about keeping their house gpa up, so they tend to be pretty strict about high school grades. To others, however, it's not as big of a deal. How low of a gpa are you talking about?
|
Im talking a 2.66 lol. I did a lot better my last two years, but messed up my first two and it never could recover. Am i basically screwed in terms of getting a bid?
|
I know that UI suggests a minimum of 3.0 from high school, which is awfully high. I know that there are girls who got bids with lower than that. I'm sending you a PM.

The website suggests a 3.0 for incoming freshmen. Contact the Greek Life office because they're probably the ones with the most accurate info about the indivdual sorority GPA requirements (they are all different).

No guarantees, but getting recs and having your rec writers emphasize your recent academic success might help your cause. A 2.66 on the upswing is better than a 2.66 on the downswing. Also, if there were serious health/stress/other circumstances that affected your grades in the early part of high school, have your rec writers mention that too.
If you do decide to go through, don't be the "paranoid GPA" PNM at parties. Do not ask every (or any) sister with whom you speak, "Is a 2.66 ok? Am I going to get cut?" No individual sister can answer that for you. The housing fee ($200) + registration fees ($65-75) for formal recruitment are a bit steep (because you have to go early). |
Welcome to the Vandal family.
