Remembering Your First New Car
Ok so I just bought my first brand new fresh off the lot car. I was just wondering how did you feel when you got your first NEW car?
I got myself a '08 Chevy Malibu. It is so great and I just love it. I even named it 'Blue Berry'. |
I felt fantastic about my first new car, until the high tech mid 90's alarm kept ruining the battery and I had to trade it in for my next brand new car a year later that needed two new transmissions in the first month.
BUT . . . In 2005 I got my Audi brand new and I STILL love it to death and talk to it on a daily basis! |
I had 36 miles on my first Subaru when two joy riders slammed into the side, denting the whole drivers' side. The only good thing to say is that the paint on the repair matched perfectly.

i'm still driving my first new car :-) love everything about it (except the paint job... i swear it will scratch if the rain hits it the wrong way)
my last car i had for 9 years and it was 4 yrs old by the time it was gifted to me. |
My first new car was a aqua colored 1992 Ford Probe. I had hot pink stripes put on it, and I thought it was soooo cool! It had those automatic seatbelt things! :p I got it when I was 15 as a Christmas present. I had my learner's permit, and I had it for 2 years, until my high school graduation present... a brand new red mustang convertible. I was 17, and crazy about it. I had it for 3 years, and it was replaced with a brand new anniversary edition mercury cougar. I was never crazy about the cougar. *lol*
Since then I have had a used Chrysler Sebring Convertible *hated it!* it broke down all the damn time, and now I have a brand new (in 06) Honda CR-V. I was spoiled because my grandfather owned a small used car dealership, and knew all of the new car dealers. So I always kept nice cars, and he always had several new cars at his house for me to drive. *lmao* :D |
My first new car was a 1979 pontiac Firebird. Cool for its time. It was maroon with white leather seats. I thought I was pretty HOT! hee hee
|
i'm still driving my first new car. i like it, but it's time for another one. if anything, i learned what i like and don't like in a car, so i'll be more picky next time. it's a huge commitment.

Brand new 85 Honda CRX HF. This car got 45 mpg on the highway. Wish I still had it!

My first and only new car was a dark blue 1987 VW Jetta. I really liked it.
My wife's first and only new car was a white 1998 Jetta; she really liked it, too. (She got when we were dating, not married.) But since those cars gave up the ghost (hers from age, mine from being rear-ended), we haven't bought any more new cars -- all of our cars since then have come from CarMax or Hertz. I doubt we'll ever buy a new car again; we just don't see the value in buying new and we'd rather be putting the difference cost-wise somewhere else. There are days lately that I miss the car I had before the new car, though -- a 1979 VW Rabbit diesel. It got 50+ mpg on the highway. Even given the cost of diesel fuel, I still could live with that. |
I'm still driving my first car, which was new when I bought it. A '99 Honda Civic. Yeah, it's paid for.

I'm selling my first new car Friday, teardrop.
lulu is a 2007 ford focus, kiwi green. I love her, but it would cost entirely too much to ship and a waste to put her in storage. |

Congrats on the new wheels, flirt5721.
My first new car was a '99 Buick Regal. DH and I drove that puppy into the ground - 130K miles in nine years. |
My first brand new car, I was beginning my senior year and I got a 2006 Honda Civic Si with 0.2 miles on the odometer and drove it off the showroom floor.
When I finished my first semester of college, I decided I no longer wanted a ricer because the idea of owning one no longer appealed to me. So I traded it in on a brand new 2007 Ford F-150. It's 10000000000000000 times better. |
