Can a mayor be THAT retarded about animals?

Read the story >here<

Both the Humane Society AND PETA have something to say about this...

It was ONLY 10 dogs!!! Hayle, I can take care of that alone!!! I had HUGE rats that were "little dogs"--and 50 of them...

That fool mayor needs Jesus himself. Please don't let me meet anyone that retarded...

That's sad that the dogs aren't being taken care of, but that poor excuse for a Mayor is totally off his rocker. What is he thinking?

He says since they are all God's creatures there will be "survival of the fittest"...

I think that is rather skewed... Nonetheless, my husband heard it and well...

Not only stupid, but cruel, too. He's sentencing them to starve to death, probably. Were there no folks in town that would adopt the dogs? There were only 10 of them when he let them go, but depending on whether this "animal shelter" neutered/spayed them, there might be more wild dogs in the area soon! This guy lacks common sense.

Arkansas has differing state laws that us... Probably a kill order and a transition to research facility... Whereas, it's illegal in other states. I dunno. But, the mayor's logic is like--wow. That is what happens when smart people don't vote.

Making the dogs fend for themselves? How does that work with domesticated dogs?

I know a very good dog vet in Dallas. How does that work where animal sheltering has failed? And my husband JUST visited U of AR in Pine Bluff for a consulting gig!!!

Let's not forget dog attacks on children.

TexasWSP 06-14-2008 05:14 PM

Didn't PETA kill like 98% of the animals it took in last year? There was a link to it on here a while ago.

These so called Mayor released city wild dogs are going to get and pass on so many diseases, especially parasites. Some cause problems in people.

What an idiot.

If they were domestic dogs, they are extremely unlikely to survive in the forest. They do not have the hunting or scavenging skills. They would have to live on fallen fruit- very difficult.

Totally thoughtless of the mayor indeed.

There is a place on my alma mater's campus where people drop off dogs they don't want anymore. It's called "The Preserve" or something like that and I don't think there's a lake in there, or anything good for dogs to eat at least. It's next to our "stadium". I kept hearing about wild dogs, but I didn't put two and two together when I saw a random dog every now and then or when I saw one on my way to class at 8am in the main building. It wasn't until I saw a pack of random dogs wandering around together that I "got" it.

The school set up traps but our idiot students kept setting them off because "the poor dogs". Yeah...wait until a pack of them attacks someone. But actually I think they may have gotten rid of most of them because I haven't heard anything about them for quite some time.

So basically this concept of letting dogs loose is nothing new. But yeah, what a mayor.

This made me think of my random thread thought, except I was just talking about unleashed dogs with owners.

Stray dogs are both sad and dangerous. People have always let dogs loose when they no longer want them. On highways, in forests, etc. A mayor (or an organization, for that matter) doing so has never happened before, as far as I know, and that's what makes this newsworthy and wild.
