Divine Intervention...?
 

...and the irony is today is Friday the 13th....heheh


Ok....so I am getting off the Metro rail this morning and the power in the tunnel is out so we all had to climb up one short flight of escalators towards the exit...as I was approaching the 2nd (and much longer set of escalators) an elderly gent stopped and asked if I could take his bag up the escalator so he could walk up.

No problem....

I take it up and set it down and wait for him to come get it....as he was 1/2 way up, he says that I can go on ahead and don't wait around for him and that he was ok....

So just as I was about to cross the street, one of the people that had just came up got hit by a turning car....I went forward to the street but couldn't cross because some of the traffic was still going and there was nothing I could do at that moment until the light changed.

At the same time that happened I also turned back to check on the bag and the gentleman....

Now mind you this guy wasn't moving fast at all and by my calculations he should have been just coming off the escalator or at least not that far away from it...but when I turned and looked, there was no bag....and the man was gone...disappeared.

By the way, the lady looked like she was ok, I stuck around for the ambulance and all and I am still bugged about how much that could have been me on that stretcher if it wasn't for that man.

Wow, Daemon! First, good for you for helping him out in the first place and second, I've always believed things happen for a reason. Oh, and third, thanks for reminding me it's Friday the 13th. Now I'm a little wigged. ;)

sounds like a better friday the 13th than i'm having. we had 18+ gallons of water leak into our living room through the roof.
