U of Tampa

Is anyone in/went to U of Tampa? I have a friend who is thinking about moving down there to finish up his degree in communications. He is going to go over and look at the school himself in July, but any information would be great!

Thanks!

I have never taken classes there. I work across the river from it, though. It is an urban campus- there is quick access to downtown and to gas stations and restaurants. Of course, if you have a car it is much better. I like the campus- it is pretty, though it gets VERY hot in the summer.

it is a small private school, third or 4th tier i think(us news and world report). university of south florida is also in tampa, and might be less expensive than u of tampa. if your friend is going to work and finish his degree at the same time, he might find that usf offers classes that better fit his schedule.

Scandia,

Not stalking, but I saw this. I work in the Sykes/'beer can' building.

TPASigEp- I work up the street from you.

And not to get vulgar, but when someone first mentioned the Sykes building to me (it was Nations Bank back then I think), he said it was shaped like a body part that I do not have.

USF doesn't have what he wants to go for. The closest to Sarasota/Bradenton that does is UoT, and he is hoping to move in with his aunt and uncle to save some money on rent and bills. Chances are if he does work he'd either work for his uncle or get somethng on campus, so that's not that much of an issue right now.

USF has mass communications and communication. Communications sounds like either one of them, or some combo of both? Im confused lol. Either way, good luck to your friend :)

Thanks. I think the issue with USF also was that it's further away then UoT is.
