Need Honest Feedback
Hello Everyone:
Ok, obviously some of you are just too sensitive to words. I have an abundant of friends who are members, and I mean in many organizations. I really don't think that it matters which organization, I would just like to know if any of you have joined a Grad Chapter of a sorority. If your organization doesn't do this, then I'm not speaking to you. I just want to hear about relevant experiences. I'm speaking about NPHC members only!!!!! Original Message: I was considering joining an Alumnae Chapter. I have heard many people say that they regretted not pledging as an undergraduate; I'm hoping that I will not feel this way. I am 25 years old, and I bet that many of you wonder why I haven't done it sooner. To be honest, I had some family obligations to take care of. I have taken care of my grandparents, as well as some other family members, for several years now. I was young, and with all that pressure to perform in school and work and take care of them, I simply did not have the time. Has anyone else been through a similiar thing? I would love to hear how the experience was? I am also married, has anyone had to balance the pledging with their family? |
It all depends on the organization you're pursuing.
You'll get vague answers with vague questions. |
You don't join or pledge an alumnae chapter - you join an organization. Also, if you're talking about an NPC sorority, only some accept alumnae initiates and it's only for special cases, many by invitation.

That said, your question is best suited for your plethora of friends you know in real life. Or you could pose the question in the forum belonging to the NPHC sorority you wish to pursue. :) You'll get TONS of feedback there!!!!! |
Thanks OTW
Thanks OTW! I will try that.

http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=96664 (Thanks, OTW) Now run along and ask your "abundance of friends who are members." I never understand why people come here if you have people to talk to. |
Couldn't get IBTL on the other one, so lol here.

we SO need an icon that has a smilie playing a violin.and furthermore, i wish we could merge all these "one time posters with their 'unique' greek dilemmas" posts into one thread so future posters can realize that, hey really arent the first or last to:
pledge an org after college pledge as a married man/woman pursue an org that isnt on your campus pledge by yourself pledge with 2.5 kids pursue an org with little/no community service rush an org but not be able to afford dues and the list goes on... and on... and on. |

Yaaaaaay...a fun list of dilemmas similar to CT4's membership intake question list. :) rush an org when all of their friends are in another org rush an org when they're a legacy to another org pledge if they are an engineering major and might not have time pledge with a hernia pledge with a lazy eye pledge with an allergy to nylon...some line jackets are made of nylon...what to do |

"i want to pledge XYZ but my mom/dad/uncle/cousin/bff will disown me cause theyre ABC" "i want to pledge XYZ but they are suspended/on probation/arent having a line until i graduate" "i was never the 'sorority girl' type... am i making the right decision?" "i want to be an XYZ but i'm thinking about transferring schools..." "i'm not religious/Christian, will that affect my chances?" (actually, that may be legitimate for some orgs, huh?) |

I still don't understand why people don't pay closer attention to the stickied posts and announcements at the top of the forums before posting. :( |
