Housing at Bama
 

I just befriended Bama APhi on facebook and was looking through the photo album. There is a picture of a door with a sign that says "future home of Alpha Phi. So does anyone know if we have a house already at Bama? If we do, who else has occupied it?

I just heard that we will be in the SDT house in the short term, so the picture was probably with that house.

I think LXA was in SDT last year and are moving into a new house and APhi will take over the SDT house this fall. I heard DG will be at BAMA in either Fall 2009 or 2010 but I am not sure where they plan on placing their house.

This is very cool! I love reading about expansions and recolonizations....very sad this is the only exposure i have these days is to connect via GC to keep in touch with Alpha Phi.

I cant wait to hear about recruitment at Bama!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Alpha Phi will build a new house in the parking lot behind sorority row [Magnolia Street], and will occupy the SDT house until construction begins in 2010.

When they begin building the new APhi house, DG will come in and take over the SDT house.

That is correct - the new sorority houses will be behind Pi Phi & KD. Eventually there will be more than Alpha Phi & DG. With total at 180 and most houses considerably over that, the houses cannot hold the entire chapter and meet fire code. They desperately need to add new groups. Alpha Phi will be allowed to pledge up to 180 members this fall.

Actually, Alpha Phi took 218 last week. Great job!

So, apparently Alpha Phi at Bama is getting a new house. Can anyone confirm this and know details?

I have learned that we purchased the Sigma Delta Tau house that we are currently housed in and plan to tear it down and rebuild a new, larger house in it's place. I am not sure of the timeline to have it finished but I'm sure it is within the next couple of years.
