That looks photoshopped. Not that I don't believe that someone would do that to themselves, but if the area's still that red, the tattoo is not going to look like that.

Interesting you wrote something on this. I was at the gym this morning and really began to people-watch. Just as I got past the tiny tatoos that women were getting (hearts, roses, etc), came the "tramp stamps" on the lower back. What I don't get are these Tatoo-Women, with ink traveling from their neck all the way down to their hand. They look completely freaky!!!

Just an observation and a display of my old age.

Its not just an old age thought I'm only 20 but a girl at work whose 17 her mom signed for it got "Carpe" and "Diem" on her wrists. And my first thought when she was showing them off was what are you going to do when your 30 and no longer want to be a cashier at a retail store???

I doubt that it is because the collection of images is from a book that was published and the pictures all say the artist and shop they are credited to. If you look at the other ones this one is probably the most tame with the worst probably being this one. . .

Why would someone get Brittany's crazed bald head on yourself???

And, AF, if the pic was taken not long after the tat was finished it may become red and the tat does remain 'raised' for a few days afterward.

Unicorns having sex......and Bob Barker..........on your body.......forever...........hmmm

and my mom thinks my tattoos are 'interesting'

I like to think mine are a bit better than those. Wow.

Wouldn't the redness on that first one be more from the chest hair being waxed than from the tatoo?

I dont think they wax hair...at least not at anyplace i've seen. I think wax would cause too much of an irritation and they wouldn't be able to tattoo.

But that tattoo does look a little too perfectly placed on there...

You can tell it's real by the way it's almost popping out. When you get a tattoo, especially depending on where it's at, the area around it can stay red for days. I got one of mine redone 2 weeks ago and it's still red around the edges because the last of the big scabs just fell off. It can stay scabbed for a few weeks, depending on your skin and what part of your body it is on.

They don't wax, they shave. Waxing would make the skin too sensitive and make getting inked a lot more painful than it is...... if you find them painful. I personally think it's relaxing.

My favorite tacky tattoo was on LA Ink. This guy LOVED cheese but he had become lactose intolerant. So he had them do a tattoo with a big hunk of swiss and it said something like "In loving memory of cheese, 1978 - 2006." :D
