Rape Victim Asks for Help on YouTube

So allegedly, a young teenage girl named Crystal is a rape victim and decided to use YouTube as a tool to reach out for help. I'm not going to act like her situation never happened or that she is trying to seek out attention for herself, but I won't be so naive as to question her motivation for posting her "story".

Should Crystal's plea be taken seriously or is she starved for "Most Views"?

I'm pretty sure we all need to "vent" from time to time, but I don't think that YouTube should serve as a substitute for a counselor/trusted adult in a situation that involves something as serious as this.

Woooowwwwww. Um, yeahhhhh, I don't know. I hate to sound heartless, but I'm not really buying it for some reason.

ETA: And hey, NB! *waving* I haven't "seen" you in a while! Are you getting excited for graduation? When do you leave for school?

*waves back*

I've been MIA due to exams and just school in general....it's been hectic. Graduation is three weeks from tomorrow and I'm sooooooooooooo ready :D I actually am doing a summer program for those interested in careers in medicine, so I'll be up there June 15 through late July.

But yeah, when I first heard about her story it raised my eyebrow to say the least.

But random adults on YouTube are an acceptable venue for her problem?

no, but i think someone her own age might help

plus, she would have a wider audience....not sure if audience is the right word

Bad idea. Bad idea. Bad idea.

(If this is true--who knows) This is a legal issue. Not a youtube issue.

Any counseling that she needs should not happen via the internet ESPECIALLY with people her own age.
