Number of Chapters
How many chapters and colonies do you have? When were you founded? Is anyone looking to become a part of NPC, if so what are their requirements as far as number of chapters/members/etc.?
To answer my own question, we have 9 Chapters and 3 Colonies, we were founded November 13, 1983. I do not foresee associating ourselves with NPC. |
My sorority has 5 chapters and this fall we'll have 3 colonies starting their process.
We are not going to be affiliating w/ the NPC. We're multicultural, therefore we'll probably be looking to affiliate w/ the National Multicultural Greek Council. |
There is a National Multicultural Greek Council? Do they have a web site?

Asia
Yes there is and to my knowledge, they do not have a website. They aren't publicizing their activities or anything else for that matter b/c they just formed last year. Last I read from another multicult. org's website was that they were in the process of trying to contact other multicult sororities and fraternities that would like to be involved. I assume they are still doing a lot of other things to get the council together. |
No. of Chapters & Colonies: Three Chapters, one Interest Group.
Alpha - University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) Beta - University of Oklahoma Gamma - University of Louisville. Interest Group: University of Texas -Arlington. Date of Founding: May 1, 1989. At present, we're simply looking to flourish and maintain our sisterhood! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif ------------------ equeen A Lioness has her Pride! @>--;-- Alpha Sigma Kappa - Women in Technical Studies |
Active Chapters (Undergraduate): 37
Alumni Chapters: 18 Sorority-in-Development Chapters: 5 Interest Groups: 7 Founded: January 26, 1978 Reason I'm still reading and posting on this board: there were only 6 chapters when I joined! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif So I still think of Sigma Alpha as an "newcomer" to the Greek scene! We're actually in a very fortunate position -- groups at universities have been coming to us, especially over the last year, rather than us actively recruiting new chapters. I don't see us trying to affiliate nationally with NPC, unless their requirements were to change. (I believe the recruiting process required would not be possible for a professional organization, as I understand it. I've also heard you have to have at least 15 chapters for a certain number of years, but this may be inaccurate.) We are a PFA member organization, however. We were founded in 1989 at the University of Michigan-Flint. We are not looking to become a part of NPC. We only have one chapter, but we are open to expansion if anyone is interested.
There are other local Alpha Theta Chi chapters out there. Hope College, Holland, Michigan Vincennes University, Vincennes, Indiana Hamilton College, Clinton, New York Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas Right now I think we have about 26 members. Have a great day!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |
My sorority Ceres International Women's Fraternity
Founded 1984 8 chapters 10 alum/assoc. groups A representative from Panhell. spoke at our last conclave so I think if we get the needed number of chapters started that in the next 5-10 years we will join Panhell. and a note to Bfulton even though we might sort of be rivals congrats y'all have really taken off in the chapter expansion department. Any secrets you would like to share or campuses you would like to share like Texas A & M. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I do understand that y'all have a much larger paid staff than we do for expansion but if anyone has any ideas send them my way. I don't want to step on the expansion directors toes but I would like to help her out. http://www.wku.edu/~ceres/ |

BTW, I think there's plenty of room for both groups! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif We are different in that we require 70% of the chapter to be ag college majors, whereas as I understand it, Ceres is looking to become Panhellenic long-term? FYI, we have NO paid staff -- all volunteers, however, in the future I think we will need at least one paid staff member. This is a lot to handle with volunteers. As for expansion: be visible, stay positive and look for campuses with room for GLO growth! Good luck! |

We were founded in 1990 at the University of Iowa. We currently are the largest Latina sorority in the nation, and we have 59 chapters, 6 colonies from coast to coast.
Not bad for only being around for 11 years. ------------------ "La Valentina" #46 G.S.I.N.B.O.S. Sigma Lambda Gamma Gamma Alpha Chapter DePaul University "Culture is Pride, Pride is Success" |

Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority, Inc.
Hi All! I know this thread is a bit old, but since it's being brought back up...
My org currently has 14 Chapters, 1 Charter Colony, and various interest groups. We were founded in 1993 and are part of NALFO (National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations-I think that's what it stands for), so we are not looking to affiliated with an NPC. For Purlple Panther, if you still check this site, nice to see another Latina Org. represented! Go Gammas! ( yours and mine  ) |
