Anniversary trips!

We did honeymoons-now, let's do anniversary trips!
Do you go places for every anniversary, or just the big ones?

I'm doing this topic, because MrRN and I are coming up on 5 years this fall-we are trying to find a place to go! We originally thought back to Italy, but now are not sure. We change our minds weekly! We have saved up enough miles for 2 business class round trip tickets to either Europe or Hawaii or Central/South America. Now we just need to spend them! :D

Well for our one year dating anniversary we went to the mountains in VA. This is also the weekend we got engaged.

I must say the place he picked was fabulous. Out in the mountains, gorgeous inn, horseback riding, hiking, trail tours and more. Plus our room has a gas fireplace and private balcony with a hot tub! It was a great weekend and I would love to go back.

We don't take a big trip every year because we always take a trip in the spring. The past couple of years, we have just gone out to a really nice restaurant for our Anniversary and get a suite at the Westin.

I love Central America in the Spring...not too hot.

We were in Lexington at the House Mountain Inn. http://www.housemountaininn.com/

Ironically the family that owns and runs it is originally from the town of my rival high school.

I want to go away for our 1 year SO bad. It's a three day weekend this year which I might be able to turn into a 4 day weekend if possible. Even if we just stayed somewhere fun here in the city it's be cool :)

Yeah we did that last year and it was really cool. We got a nice room for the entire weekend, made dinner reservations...basically doing the same thing we would be doing if we were visiting another town. It was actually nice to be pampered without all the expense and hastle of a flight/travel.
