Gifts for Big Sis going alumni
 

My pledge sisters big sis is going alum this semester. They are very close and are a great big and little pair. My pledge sis sent me a message yesterday asking if I know about and big/lil traditions/presents that are done when a big goes alum....

I have never heard of any traditions like that other than senior wills where the women going alum leave things behind for other women in the chapter...

Do u have any traditions/presents that you give to women going alum? specifically any traditions between bigs/littles?

We didn't have a particular tradition, but she might consider starting a new tradition. Since big sisters do so much for their lil sisters, when Bigs go alum, maybe lils should get something with "alumna" on it so that they feel like they are moving on to another stage of AOII membership, not finishing.

maybe the little could by the big a necklace- we recieved the rose-shaped charm (AOII is on it, but it's hard to see). Anyway, it was great since most of us didn't wear our lavaliers once we were out of school, but we could wear the rose charm and it didn't scream "college" but still represented AOII.

One of my pledge sisters received a zeta tau alpha alumn shirt from her little when she graduated. It's really cute. Anyways she could do that or maybe give her a glass vase that engraved.
