senior rushing?

I'm currently a junior but will be a senior when informal comes around. I never had a chance to rush and now I wish I did. I know as a senior the chance of getting a bid is low but should I try?

By senior, do you mean "4th year student with 2 or more years left" or do you mean senior as in you will graduate in spring 2009? If it is the former and you don't go to a school with a large competitive Greek community, you might have a chance, provided you don't have another "strike" against you (such as a bad GPA). If it is the latter, your chances don't look too good, at least in an NPC.

It depends on your campus. There were several senior girls in my pledge class last semester so you should definitely try!

Some schools allow seniors as freebies during formal recruitment. Check with your campus Panhellenic to see if they have any special considerations for seniors.

Everyone above is correct.

Something I also want to point out is that, depending on the sorority, you might only get one year as a collegiate.

Just because you might be a senior w/ 2-3 years of school left, doesn't mean you'll be a collegiate member for the whole time you are in school.

Many sororities give their collegiate members alumnae status after the completion of their 4th year in college. It happened to some of my chapter sisters last year.
