Hello
I am new here :) I just wanted to stop in and say hello to my fellow PNAIMs. Hopefully we can all find our homes at the end of this wonderful journey!
|
Just an FYI...
It is best to be as discreet as possible in your AI pursuit. If you are looking at a particular group or groups it is best to keep that information private. :) |
Thank you for the advice! :)

Yes... and take the GLO name off any and all posts.

Why is it that AI is this big secretive process? Girls going through rush are not told to hide the fact that they are pursuing sororities, why should women who are attempting AI be told to hide the groups they are interested in?
This post isn't meant to be rude or cocky, it's a genuine question! |

FYI, many people (and many sororities) believe that AI is an honor to be bestowed, not something that a woman should pursue. |

From what I have gathered through research, there are quite a few sororities that are very welcoming and accepting of women that pursue them. Not to say that they initiate every woman that contacts them regarding AI, but I feel like they are more accepting of it than a lot of people on this site. Who knows, I could be wrong, but that's how I feel about it.

Because AI is NOT the same thing as collegiate recruitment.
For most sororities AI is reserved for women who members believe hold the ideals of their sisterhood, women who are not members and contribute time and resources to the sorority/sorority's cause (for example, there is a thread here about a woman who advised a local college chapter and was not a member, or mothers of members who contribute, etc), are outstanding community leaders, etc. In other words, it is something a group does to honor a specific person. Many women (feel free to read the threads here) did not rush... or rush and got cut... or whatever... and 30 years later, they are trying to fulfill this college dream of theirs to be in a sorority and use AI as a backdoor to join one. For many sororities it is simply not appropriate for random people to contact them to see if they have AI, and how does it work, and how can I join, etc. |

1. refer to my post above yours 2. Not every woman that belongs to a sorority that accepts AI agrees with it. 3. You are bordering (and I do emphasize bordering) on being rude when you make the statement I bolded above in your post. Just sayin... |

I know that many women probably have ulterior motives, but I do not! :) Sorry if I opened a can of worms, I was just curious! |

But if you know everything about AI, why are you here??? Funny, there's a lot of national/international officers of various sororities that are active on here that have voiced the same opinions. (I'm seeing an invitation to HPRL (aka sorority shopping central) in 3...2....1....) |
