Death of Noble Leslie Devotie Question

Does anyone in here know the truth behind his death? I know that he fell into a river and drowned while trying to step on a ferry in Ft. Morgan, and that he may been intoxicated or zooted. Is there a story behind this? I am currently pledging right now and am not initiated, and someone asked me to look this up. I found this site because I can not get into the actual SAE forums on the official site.

Pledge-It is kind of funny that you brought this up. I just the other week tracked the story down on line.
My suggestion, just so you can present yourself and your assignment better, is to type his name and civil war into a search engine.
Hint: Was most likely not intoxicated.

If that does not help you, PM me.

Since it seems at least 70 people have stopped by this thread, I thought I should provide some links.
The OP and I did exchange PM's on this already.

I attend a Civil War re-enactment today.
I went out of my way to ask if any units from Alabama were
represented as it would have be interesting to talk to them and perhaps
get a photo.
But none were there.
Is an idea for the rest of you.
