Finals Week Ideas
Finals week is coming up, and I want to do something fun for the girls as the Scholarship Director.
Any ideas? I was planning an "ice cream break" one night, what else? |
Late night breakfast at the library or a coffee study break are always great ideas!
Both of these events could be done at locations on campus like the library or if you have a house you could obviously do it there! |
Late Night Buffet at the house is a good idea. Set out a "buffet" of snacks (chips, pretzels, veggies, fruit) out at the house for girls at a certain time.
|
I like a late night idea myself...like milk, coffe and tea with several kinds of cookies we all love from our childhood, but usually don't eat. It is finals week after all!
|
Another fun idea is a chocolate night. You can have anything chocolate related...choco bars, cookies, brownies, chocolate milk etc. Don't forget to include white chocolate in there. Chocolate night always brings smiles to faces during a stressful week.

We do Jumbo Hollers. They are really good.

Each night during Dead Week (the week before finals) our scholarship committee and cook worked together to have late-night study treats. One night it might be brownies, the next nachos, the next cookies, the next puppy chow and snack mix. It was never anything that was a lot of work (the cook would make the treats and the scholarship committee would just have to set them out at the arranged time). Usually it was later - like at 10:30 or 11 - and it was a nice break to just hang out, eat and chat for 15 minutes or so before going back to studying. Of course, we were a housed chapter, so that made it easier.

Our house mom had a habit of staying up late during finals week and baking chocolate chip cookies for us. It was lovely. :)

What about a game of Pictionary? You can divide everyone into large groups that compete with each other.
Do any of the sisters do yoga? They could lead a 20 minute destress session. This sounds corny, but I've done it with groups of adults when I host parties. I put out games like Operation, Connect Four, pick up sticks, jax, etc. People play them while socializing. You could even pick up coloring books and crayons-things that kids like to play with. I first did this at a sixtieth birthday extravaganza. |
Depending on your budget, sometimes you can get someone to come in and do chair massages. We had a Masso Therapy school in the same city and sometimes they can do it cheaply.
