How do you fake paying attention?
 

Um, whenever someone talks to me and if the topic is boring or the person is boring I space out. I try to pay attention but I just can't. I don't want to offend them, so how do I fake it?

Ask questions; that's what I always do. And I have found that the majority of the time, when I begin "faking" interest in what someone is talking about, by the end of the conversation I really AM interested.

Hey slim Shady, sorry couldn't resist. Anyways there was a topic on this posted about 2 weeks ago. There is more.

I usually just nod my head a lot and if they ask me something I say "yes". It usually works out pretty well, but occasionally I get caught.

Take a communication class...you'll be happy that you won't have to fake it anymore.
