8 Teens imprisoned and beat teen girl
So I was watching this on Nancy Grace right now and I saw there wasn't a thread.
Here's an article from the Miami Herald: http://www.miamiherald.com/775/story/485232.html Quote:

They didn't kidnap her but they would not let her leave, which is what the false imprisonment is.
It was the two males who waited outside the home as lookouts. One of the dumb girls' mothers said that the victim actually initiated the attack by talking trash on Myspace(?). It doesn't make sense for her to talk trash to some girls and then show up at someone's one--so I'm not buying it. Meanwhile, the father of the victim claims the attack happened because the idiots wanted a popular youtube video. |

I just typed exactly what they were explaining on Nancy Grace's show. They claimed that she was kidnapped and that the lookouts were girls. |
I think a lot of news sources are still trying to get the facts straight.

It isn't the first time a group of people ganged up and beat the hell out of someone else. It certainly won't be the last.
Here is a quote which came to mind when I first heard the hysteria about this thing on Glenn Beck's show this morning: "Times are bad. Children no longer obey their parents, and everyone is writing a book." -- Cicero, circa 50 B.C. |
These incidents are being received differently than other instances of group fights.
For one, society has a bullcrap double standard and doesn't expect this type of behavior from girls, particularly girls who don't "look the part." Some of us know that girls who look all sorts of ways have been whoopin' boys' and girls' butts for yeeeeeeeears. Just not on camera. For two, the age of the internet (since Myspace and youtube were mentioned) disburses information differently than in the past. And you have a lot of kids trying to get famous through those sites. |
I watched this on Nancy Grace last night. All of that because of some stuff said on MySpace? Where do all these kids get off thinking that they can beat someone up (or kill someone) because they were "disrespected" on MySpace (or at a party, or in a phone conversation or text message)? People talk crap about people all the time - in most cases it's called "gossip" - so get used to it. If you don't want people "disrespecting" you, you better act in a respectful way in the first place.

Why wasn't the girl fighting back? They beat her for 30 minutes and not once did she swing back? I don't get it.
Well, the kids are "famous", now. The police released the video. And some girl was asking if she'd be out in time for cheerleading practice?! Another asked if this would affect her spring break plans, or some such nonsense. Just WOW. |

According to Headline News (i'm watching it right now), all the kids that participated are going to be charged as adults. What they are saying is that they will be charged with kidnapping and battery.
|
This is actually a local story where I live.
Here is the latest:the girls are all being charged as adults, as are two boys who were the lookouts. A gag order was issued in court today. Also the girl could not fight back because she was knocked out several times. |
Mother of God, WHAT is going on these days?!??!??!?!!?
I think the parents of the beaten girl should also get the chance to hold down and beat hell out of each of the other kids' parents individually. Thanks for raising a crappy member of society. |

It seems nowadays there are a lot of parents are refusing to believe that their children are pieces of shit. |
There's a new DVD entitled "Pieces of *bleep* Gone Wild." Not really.
The average parent is in the dark about what their children do and have the potential to do. Not saying that the average teenager is doing the stuff these kids are doing. |
