Joining greek life through another school

I have recently transferred to a new school and they don't have any Greek Life. I've been interested in joining a sorority for over a year now and am in a completely new city where there is no dorms.

Are there rules saying you can't join a sorority at a school you don't attend? I know it might seem like a dumb question, but I am serious and really want to know.

Thank you in advance! :)

If it's an NPC sorority you're interested in, you have to be enrolled as a full time student at that college/university, per Unanimous Agreements.

I'm not qualified to speak for NPHC, Multi-Cultural, or Local groups. You'll just have to check with the sororities you're interested in joining.

What do you think of something like a network of colleges through a larger university? I currently go to a CUNY (City University of New York) and am technically a CUNY student as well as one of the college I'm attending. Would you consider this enrolled? It's sad because all the non-NPC sororities I find here I'm not interested in, but there's a NPC one at Brooklyn College I like.

If it simply cannot be done, then I guess it can't. Maybe I should e-mail the chapter and see...?

You just answered your own question.;):D
We here can generally only provide rather general answers.:)
If detailed questions, one should really go to the source be it the chapter house, school or National HQ.

SAE now as at least one City wide chapter.

There are several GCers I can think of off the top of my head who are Brooklyn College alums or are familiar with Greek Life there. Hopefully they'll chime in soon.

Hopefully! Because I e-mailed that chapter and it came back to me saying it could not be delivered :(
