Who is attending IRD?

I will be attending April 19 with Alpha Iota (Baldwin Wallace College)

DoctorD 03-30-2008 12:57 PM

Don't think I can make Gamma Alpha's, but I believe I can attend Gamma Iota's and Gamma Phi's. Both are on my calendar anyway :) - we'll see! I do know Gamma Iota's will be a little tight with other things I have going on.

ETA:

Gamma Iota [Mercer] - April 5
Gamma Phi [Georgia Tech] - April 19

Well I'd love to since it is my chapter's 50th anniversary as well, but I didn't receive any information or an invitation. Pretty hard to attend an event when no one asks you nor lets you know when and where.

I know both the University Alumni Office and Headquarters have my correct address since I receive The Quarterly, the Idaho magazine, and requests for money on a regular basis.

I am still attending classes on campus, so I am well aware of this, now. The point is I might have made other plans for that weekend since I wasn't informed of it last fall like other alumnae. But I also wasn't invited to Feast of Roses or Initiation and it is pretty awkward when collegiate members ask you why you haven't attended events or plan to attend them and you haven't been invited. It isn't just any old IRD, it is our 50th anniversary and not being invited when you live in town and are on campus in a different capacity is well, pretty lame. I'm not a lost sister nor did I get married and change my name, phone number, or address, or even my job. Seriously, I am not hard to find and even have coffee or a weekend meal with members on occasion.

It is heart warming though when I do meet the new initiates and tell them we're sisters the lovely reception I get.

Gamma Tau April 19th

I'll be there!

Hubby has gone to MA until Friday so after dropping him off at the airport, I decided to check out a couple of possible new hometowns (Duluth and Suwanee)..I love them!!

Went shopping for an IRD outfit. Hard to describe but it's cute, lol. It's white with black circle-y squiggles that look like roses, It has a little yellow tie in the front with a matching yellow jacket. I's hope that it's warm that day b/c it's supposed to be outside at our ADS's house.

Marshalls had some adorable spring jackets. I bought one for Easter that I threw on with a cute pair of black pants. I think I'll wear that to IRD, but with a bright Yellow, Black and White pattern, they may think I was dressing as a Theta.

Note....there is one elderly alum that always wears Red, Buff and Green to IRD.

Side comment... you'll see all sorts of red, yellow and green combos at Convention.;)

I'll be at the Michigan statewide IRD on April 12. I found a skirt that is black with red roses and I have a green tank that matches the green from the leaves on the skirt, with a black babydoll style shirt to go over it. I will bring the outfit to Convention also. I'm hoping it's not snowing that day...

Hi, I'll be there too! With 90+ ABs and some other advisors. I don't have an "Alpha Gammy" outfit to wear, though...:(

I should have you come and raid my closets. I have Alpha Gammy outfits in almost every size from when I was younger, then older, then sick, now not sick.. lots of Alpha Gammy outfits in lots of sizes... and yet, I keep buying more!

Atlanta Alumnae Chapter and Gamma Phi did a lovely job with IRD today. Sat with the current CA, another fabulous advisor, and a new IVP at lunch. Rather than a speaker, each table had fun questions to answer and then there was a share time when a speaker might have spoken. It was fun to hear the answers and how they differed based on our ages... all had to do with music, since the theme was "Melody of our Lives." Examples: What song do you think of when you think of your sorority experience? What is your favorite recruitment song?

Gamma Iota did a nice IRD a few weeks ago, too - Open House.

Those of you who have gone to IRD this month - how was it?
