do you have this on your campus?
This should probably go under community service but... I am involved with an organization on campus that is like a Big Brothers/Big Sisters mentoring program. (We hang out with local elementary school kids and show them what college is about.) I was wondering if there are any programs like that on your campus so I can get some ideas for the up-coming school year. THANKS!

Well, I'm a Beta pledge at Nebraska, and we have a philanthropy called the Beta Buddy program. It's sounds kinda like what youre involved in, although I don't think its neccesarily about what college is like. It's more about helping underprivilaged kids a role model, and helping them. Of course I'm only a pledge and haven't even started yet, so I may be wrong, although I was in a similar program in HS. I may be able to give you some ideas from that, let me know what you have in mind. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

My campus has a big sibling program. A few of my sisters are involved in it. The only things I can remember them doing was stuff like taking them to the movies or getting a group of big and lil siblings together and taking them to the zoo (there happens to be one about 45 minutes from here).

SunnyGirl,
The Delt national philanthropy is "Adopt A School." There's very likely something about it on www.delts.org DeltAlum |

Thanks for your posts! It is nice to see that this awesome program is similar to some on other campuses. I just wish that I could be creative enough to come up with some new activities. You can just go bowling so many times before even the kids get sick of it.
