Dance Marathon...
 

My chapter (Phi Kappa) is trying to plan a Dance Marathon for next semester and I know that Phi Mu sponsors them as a major fundraiser for CMN. Does anyone who has done one have any suggestions about how, exactly, to go about planning and hosting one? We were thinking of holding it in October and having a Halloween theme to it...

Beta Mu Love....
 

As a Penn State Alum...I'm proud to say that the Beta Mu chapter has raised over $300,000. since we've been involved with CMN. One of my chapter sisters joked that while she is attending Graduate school at UCF, they needed ideas to raise nearly $50,000. total (for the entire campus)....It's a bit interesting because at Penn State's Dance Marathon, the Beta Mu chapter raises around that much (and sometimes more) each year...Penn State's Dance Marathon is the largest student-run philanthropy in the World and we raised about 6.6 million this year, alone!

Talk to the ladies of the Beta Mu chapter...they have great ideas! We've stood by with coffee cans asking for money along with sending out sponsor letters to family and friends (20 letters per sister). The sisters also do the "See Saw" event where they sit on a seesaw for 48 hours during the weekend-downtown...sometimes they let people ride the seesaw for a few minutes (for donations, of course) because for some reason...drunk people love to do stupid things late at night (the people who come to ride the seesaw-not the sisters)...It's a lot of fun and I wouldn't trade my experience with those girls for the world....
