Chapter road trip to the south
Ok, so my chapter is from California and we are doing a chapter road trip to the south for spring break visiting our chapters at the University of Oklahoma, Baylor, and UT Austin, I know a lot of GC'ers are from the South, so are there any spots we should definitely stop by on our trip? Whether it be food spots, or just cool places, or maybe traditionally Greek places around there that you have to visit if you are there. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Take me!!
Ok, not really, but I'm super jealous! Say hi to the Kappas along the way! (We have chapters at all of those schools.) |
I'm assuming you all will be traveling from OU down IH-35 to Baylor then to Austin. How long are you staying at each destination? Or are you passing through on your way to another city?
There's plenty to do in DFW if you all make a stop there. I lived south of Waco for a few years and really didn't find anything spectacular to do (maybe some Baylor GC-ers would be more helpful here), but I love Austin. Check out 6th Street while you're down there. I'll try to think of some specific places that may be fun. |
Yea, we will be going to OU first then down to Baylor and Austin. We will be staying 2 days at each chapter. Yea I've heard about 6th street in Austin, I can't wait for that. Haven't heard of DFW though.
and we will definitely say whats up to the Kappas lucy! |

If you're in Dallas, hit Greenville Avenue. Favorite spots are the Whiskey Bar and the Cavern.
Southbound on IH-35, stop in West for kolaches (we always pick up boxes of the stuff it's that good--sausage/cheese, apple, peach). Sixth Street in Austin we go to Treasure Island, The Aquarium and Maggie Mae's. Have fun! |
