alum status for 5th year seniors

Any NPC organizations have alumnae status for 5th year seniors?

When I served on EC as an advisor a few years ago, we had a situation where a 5th Year student (not a senior) wanted to go alum. At first we thought she couldn't because she wasn't a senior, but upon checking the Handbook, a student in her 5th year (regardless of class standing) may be considered for alumna status.

Most Greek IHQs have a 4 year and out or Almnus status.:)

Phi Mu also offers 5th year alumna status.

What if a student is taking five or six years to graduate but wants to stay active the whole time? How do organizations view that?

my question is: why would you want to? is one more year of being an active that painful/undesirable to an UG in a 5 year program that they'd want alum status?

and what if said 5th year senior was initiated as an upperclassman?

asking as an outsider here.

I believe it is an option. So if you are a 5th year senior you CAN go alum, but you may also chose to stay as an active. It is a choice, not a "it's year #5 for you, you are outta here".

I appreciate all of your responses so far :)

On my campus as an undergrad (Georgia Tech), it was common to go alum as a fifth year in most (but not all) NPC sororities, and uncommon to do the same in IFC fraternities. Women who joined their sororities their second year frequently stayed on through their fifth year, though.

Tri Sigma allows 5th years to take alumna status but it's certainly not required.
