Should I tame my syle for rush?
So I've decided to make a new account.
I have a pretty wild taste when it comes to fashion. My clothing style is pretty tame, it's pretty much my head. I have big teased black hair that usually has a hump in it, and I also love makeup and I usually wear a lot on my eyes. Like big false lashes and very contrast eyes. I guess you could say, I always have party makeup on. I'm rushing this coming fall as a sophomore, because I was too nervous for spring rush. I'm wondering, should I play it down? I know I would stick out, because I always do, but I may stick out in a negative way. Since I'm rushing in the south (Texas A&M), I'm thinking more on presenting myself on how the chapters want, not how I want, as badly as that may sound. :) Thanks. |

Somehow, I don't think being a grammy winning artist would help her pledge a sorority at A&M. |

Y'all are so lame. |
Well since you are rushing in the south, and the south is competitive, I would tell you that if you do rush, it can't hurt to tone it down a little bit. You can still wear fun eye-shadow...I would just stay away from full "party makeup" and the teased hair.

Wait a minute. Isn't big hair "normal" in Texas?

Only at A&M.

The girls will likely know who you are before rush, so I doubt it will really make a difference. I suggest going all out. |
You should be yourself. But, you might want to remember to dress/groom for the event. For example, dramatic, evening makeup will probably not be appropriate for early rounds like philanthropy day when everyone is dressed simply and casually. Save your more dramatice and dressy "look" for pref.
