New members say incidents happened, but all felt safe
Two new members of Missouri State's Sigma Sigma Sigma acknowledge that many activities cited as reasons for shutting down the sorority happened.
But they also believed their sorority sisters were looking out for them and that they were never in any danger.
The 140-member sorority was shut down by its national council last week after reports of hazing and underage drinking surfaced during initiation week in mid-November....

Glad to see we've learned a lesson from the Depauw situation about talking to the media.

It's old rules. It takes a lot to change old rules. The rules have been in place for many, many years," Zvacek said. "National doesn't want to put out any effort to change. It's all about business. It was a liability issue for the national chapter. They weren't thinking in our best interest.
Statements like this make me go ::durf::.

This thread is giving me a sense of deja vu. I wouldn't know why...

i think the saddest thing is that the girls interviewed show no remorse and blame the school and the international sorority officers for their situation. of course, can we expect more from the children when the parents are spouting the same vitriol?
