Favorite Dance Songs?
I'm looking for very good dance songs
with fun, upbeat beats I don't care if it's techno, pop, hiphop, rap whatever is clever - thanks Cory |
My favorite dance song is called Unspeakable Joy by Kim English. It has a really nice beat and it's a really cool song. I'm not sure if it's techno or house or anything. Hope this helps

Hmm Dance songs....
The one I'm listening to now is Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers- Mary Janes Last Dance. It's a good one. A lot of old ones are still good, People can't help but smile when they listen to an old song, that they heard when they were like 10 or so, nostalgic (sp) I guess. god I'm getting old. Though I still like Darude, Sandstorm it's a great techno song. In Hoc |
You have to bust out a classic or two from the 80's. For example, house of pain, kriss kross, tone loc, whatever else.

Can't go wrong with the Venga Boys...Boom Boom Boom Boom

There's a new song I heard on the radio recently, very Techno, called "Sandstorm" but I dont know who it's by. Try a title search on any online music server and they'll have it. It is quite cool.

I agree on funk with George Clinton. Definitely gets you going. Ska is good too. When I was in school we had a band local to Virginia called Fighting Gravity. I think their named changed but they were awesome. Always a packed crowd at the bars. Some of the 70s and 80s songs make good dance songs. DJ Mikko stands out in my mind. You also cant go wrong with Erasure. The clubs in DC used to play their music a lot when I was in school.

OK, while I love hip hop and all that stuff, I am huge fan of music from the 70's and 80's. You can't go wrong with Brick House by the Commodores, Dancing Queen by Abba (which is like my theme song!), Hazy Shade of Winter by the Bangles, ANYTHING from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack or Dirty Dancing soundtrack, anything from Madonna's early days (Borderline, Material Girl). And the best is definitely Bust a Move by Young MC!

OH yeah! And that new Ludacris song Southern Hospitality. Also, look for Lap Dance by Nerd. Good hip hop songs.

Does anybody know the name of that song that is being played on the radio and it also appears on a car commercial. It doesn't really have any words but 'Fire it up'. It's got a great beat and everytime I hear it while driving I just tap my fingers to it.
