Housing Associations

Hey folks, I am working on creating some educational programming for members of our Housing Association. I am fairly new to the housing side of things so would appreciate any input or ideas on topics I should be covering. I want to ensure we cover the topics that will be most helpful and interesting so would love ideas!
Thanks.

Maybe short programs on preventing fires (i.e. don't have a pile of clothes next to wall outlets or a stack of papers next to open flames?)

Or something on personal safety (i.e. if the outside doors of the house don't auto-lock, don't forget to lock the doors, stay in groups at night) ?

They might sound like common sense, but you'd be surprised how little some people know.

Mary, good luck with that. How you educate your association members depends a lot on what your organization does. Many national organizations have house corporation resources from which you can draw.

Otherwise, you simply need to identify what areas your members are deficient in and recruit professionals from that area to serve on your board or to educate your existing board members.

I think every house corporation's needs are going to be unique, so for me to be able to tell you exactly what you need (or anyone for that matter) without knowing more would be guessing.
