Big sis reveal
Hey I’m in charge of our big sis reveal and I’m just trying to find something creative. Obviously don’t put up anything that pledges cannot see. I figured this is okay to ask because the new girls get a big before they are initiated. Hope to hear from you soon!

I would check with your regional advisor or consultant of some sort. There may be some revealings that your sorority considers hazing. I know there were some in ours that we we not allowed to use that other chapters had gotten into trouble for doing.
Even though most of them are all in good fun, you wouldn't want to get into trouble over something so trivial. |
We had the new members stand in a circle with thier eyes closed (blindfolds would be hazing) and the the bigs came in and on the count of three we gave the littles hugs-- on the bigs hands was paint. Then when we hugged the littles, we put our handprints on the back of the tee shirts. The tee shirts said something like "keep your hands off my little". The littles knew it was big/little reveal ahead of time.

I don't know if this would be considered hazing now, so please make sure it is not if you decide to do it. We had bigs give clues all week to the littles through different sources-one a day-and at the end of the week we had the big/little reveal.

it's our tradition to pass around the candle that each little has made for her big, and then her big blows it out. we always sing our little sister song to them at the end of the passing, but last fall we had a big/lil sis revealing sleepover and sang it to them outside by the pool.
during i-week, the bigs leave clues for their littles on their doors and usually along with a small gift each day |
lol for my big/lil reveal, we went fishing! our bigs made us our "fishing poles" and the "hook" was a little wooden anchor with a magnet on it. the color of the pole matched the color of the fishes that we were trying to "catch", and they used 8 fish per new member. i thought it was a really really cute idea and i loved it =]
for our fall '06 class, they had to pop balloons. each girl was given a color and they had to go around popping their balloon color and try to find the one with their big's name in it. |
