rushing at UNO
I am going to the university of new orleans next year as a national exchange student. I have always wanted to rush, but didn't my freshmen year. I am from Seattle but currently go to Oregon State university. If I like it well enough I want to transfer down to uno permanently. But, i have heard that it can be hard to get a bid as a sophomore, especially if you are an exchange student.
Can anyone tell me if the greek system at uno is really competitive and what my chances are for getting a bid? Thanks! |
Recruitment at UNO is not that intense but you should contact the Director of Greek Life. Depending on the type of exchange program, you may or may not be able to participate in recruitment.

to be brutally honest, if the sororities know that you are only going to be at uno briefly, they may be hesitant to offer you a bid, when that same bid could go to someone who will spend her college career totally at uno.
also, if you rush at uno with a plan to go back to oregon state to finish your degree, you may prefer to join a sorority that has chapters at both schools-you could try to affiliate with the oregon state chapter when you returned there. |

I think there is one or two UNO alumni on here on Greekchat.... I will say this too, the demographics of the chapters there is very diverse and the ages are very diverse too. |
