How can GC Duplicate Screen Names
 

GC allowed a troll (Allona, JollyGreenGiant, Sedrick) register under the same screen name tonight. Jon, How is this possible?

There's no slight difference, like an underscore or something?

Often when particularly insane trolls returned, they made slight changes to the user name that you didn't notice unless you looked for them.

Is the Benzgirl the Sequel using an I instead of an L for the username? AFAIK, duplicate usernames aren't allowed.

John's been around lately. I say just ignore the trolls and notify John/Super Mods ASAP. I'd encourage the rest of GC to do the same.

Capital i instead of L. Someone did that with my AOL SN years ago. It freaked me out, and they got banned.

So that is how the troll duplicated my name and his former screen name (Allona). Smart girl!
I have sent NUMEROUS messages to John, but he hasn't answered.

The names are subtly different through the use of fonts and characters to represent letters. Very clever but now banned.

Why was it that the cloned usernames never appeared in the Members List?

Because they're using special characters in their usernames that either makes it transparent to the memberlist, or puts it on the list but in a counterintuitive location.
