possible ADPi pin in disguise?
 

Hey ladies,

I was perusing ebay like I don't have anything better to do, and I found an "eta upsilon gamma" pin which looks suspiciously like an ADPi pin which has had its insignias replaced/moved.

for a little bit of history, eta upsilon gamma was indeed a sorority which fell out of existence in the 40s or 50s. I found another picture of a pin from HUG on another site but can't really find any further information about the sorority.

The pin on ebay looks much too new to be from the 40s or 50s (though I may be wrong). More than that, the clasped hands on the alleged HUG pin look very much like the hands on the ADPi pin. The accompanying alpha epsilon chapter guard also looks very new, similar to what you might buy from giftmart or any other greek jewelry catalog.

the auction ends in a little bit over three hours. I think I may buy the pin, just in case (though the reserve price is a bit steep), but I was wondering if anyone else had extra knowledge or opinions. Thanks!

I don't know anything about HUG, but I have seen lots of pins with clasped hands that look like ours. I'm not an expert on greek orgs by any means, but I have been lurking on ebay for years now, searching for badges (and anything ADPi).

I dont know if it would really be possible to actually change the direction that the hands are going in, which would lead me to believe this is not an ADPi pin that was just changed up.
