Hidden Hannah?
 

Hey girls, I just read on another DG website about the idea of a Hidden Hannah- someone unknown who is suppossed to watch out for the new members before and after initiation. Does any chapter actually do this and how is it done?

I've seen this done with Alumna/Collegian chapters - each member of the alum chapter takes a member of the collegiate chapter who's asked for one. Sometimes it's hidden Hannah, sometimes Aunt Hannah.

I saw it done once in a collegiate chapter - it was done, IIRC, one month at a time. During that time, your HH might leave a little note, pay attention to whether you aced a test or got any attaboys, keep an eye out for whether you seem happy or sad, just in general act as a friend would while remaining anonymous. I wasn't involved with that chapter long enough to know whether it became a lasting tradition or whether it even continued past that year.
