I was calling my bf and saw your post, so I asked him!! He said that perfume is a highly personal and sensual gift, and probably the inablity to talk about your relationship has caused your ex/your bf to buy this gift instead. Though you shouldn't ignore the inablity to talk about the relationship, the perfume is a very, very good start!!!!
P.S. What perfume is it BTW? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif I love perfume!!! |
Lancome Miracle. It's SUCH a pretty scent. It is very light when you first spray it on then after awhile you just smell kind of warm and really good.
newbie (and all others who are interested) he also called me his girlfriend by accident last night... he had to go and was like, see, look at this, girlfriends take up so much time... (after I reacted he amended it to ex-girlfriends, but still...) From him, its a good sign. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |
Aww that's so sweet nucutiepie http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif. Lancome Miracle--I wil have to check that out!!! Is it a citrus/floral, etc. scent? I love citrus scents the most!! Is this guy the Capricorn?
|
yes, he is the Capricorn... he was my first love so it will be really nice if we do get back together... I am as comfortable around him as I am around myself, which is sooo cool. Did you see Sex and the City this week?
|
Oh, and according to the Lancome Website, Miracle has freesia and lychee as its top notes, magnolia as a middle note, and jasmine and amber as its base... which means it is very light and flowery when you first put it on but it soon becomes a very warm (yet still summery) scent, which is exactly what I always wanted.
it replaced my old favorite perfume, Victoria's Secret Scorpio (jasmine and vanilla) which got discontinued about a year ago. |
A question for the guys...
OK, i need a few opinions...
I am in a position where I am sort of getting back together with an ex... and, as a present, he just bought me my favorite perfume (which he only knew was my fave by overhearing a conversation). We have this startling inability to TALK about "us", so in your opinions, what does a gift like perfume represent??? |
honestly~
perfume is a bit of a cop-out gift for the most part it's impersonal, because although you really like it...you'd have liked something more personal much better--right? it's also kind-of a make-up/take-me-back gift in my opinion, scents and jewlery cause it's something you'll know they'll like and appreciate...yet at the same time you needn't even use your brain I'm not trying to be negative...but I'm a guy...speaking as a guy...not to say I'm all guys...and it's not how I would even do it (wouldn't be my reasons for the purchase) but it's my observations, and I'm rather an observationist at heart so my opinion...it's either a half-hearted effort...or he truly isn't creative and/or in touch with what it is he likes about you, or what you enjoy Cory |

He's covering his bases IMHO, if things work out, the perfume is a precursor to more gifts and a realtionship, if you're not interested, then he's only given perfume and hasn't over-extended and ruined the friendship. good luck Regardless of the gift, seems like you and the guy are heading for a "Should we/shouldn't we?" kind of talk. Good Luck |
i'm going to have to agree with sigmachicard on this one since i've been situations like this myself and i think he hit it on the head

Hi Nucutiepie! I hope you don't feel that by asking you this I am turning your life into my own personal soap opera entertainment, but keep us posted! I'd love to read about a happy ending http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Wow, it has been a long time since I updated this! Well, we are back together, but its a very casual relationship... meaning that we see each other a few times a week and that we aren't spouting "I love yous" all over the place. The cool thing about being back with him is that there is already such a level of comfortablity and I have these things that I had missed - like snuggling with him on the couch and watching TV http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif or just the goofy little things he does. Right now I am tryign to enjoy this without getting too attached because he's spending two weeks backpacking the Appalachian trail soon, and I am going a thousand miles away come mid-september... but i guess that the perfume sort of was a "take me back gift"
