Cheerleaders Win 16th National Title
ORLANDO – The University of Kentucky cheerleaders continued their dominance at the Universal Cheer Association National Championships by winning their record 16th title, Sunday at Disney’s Wide World of Sports. The championship is the squad’s fourth in the last five years and 12th out of the last 14 years. "It was a tough spot having to perform first (in the Finals)," head coach Jomo Thompson said. "But we went out and hit our routine, setting the bar high and putting the pressure on the other 14 teams after us." GO BIG BLUE! |
Congrats Cats!
I have always thought that UK's cheerleaders were the quintessential college cheerleaders.
Oh!!! And I guess this is ANOTHER win for the SEC?!! |
"The Southeastern Conference was represented by six teams in the 15-team finals. Tennessee finished second while Alabama took home fifth place. LSU came in sixth, Mississippi State was 10th and Ole Miss placed 14th."
And add to the list one more SEC Champion. The University of Tennessee's mascot Smokey won the 2008 Mascot Championship. Aubie of Auburn University was third. |
