Cuff links?
Sooo this is probably the most random thing ever, but I get all of my advice from GC! :-P How do men wear cuff links if their shirt has buttons by the wrists already? Do they just take the buttons out? I'm so confused by this.
And another one...would you sport fraternity cuff links? I think they're pretty sweet... |

I gave my husband a nice pair of monogrammed cuff links whne we got married. He wore them at the wedding and wears them at business meetings.

Probably the coolest gift for being in a wedding I've ever received is a set of monogrammed cufflinks. Those were normal, but i think the weired the better
As above, we typically only wear them with French Cuffed shirts i think these are pretty cool: http://www.thelandsalmon.com/images/..._cufflinks.jpg http://bp3.blogger.com/__XCWUd8FFjQ/...ocardlinks.jpg http://www.uncrate.com/men/images/20...ufflinks-t.jpg |
I don't like cuff links with my fraternity letters or shield on them. I would personally want something a little more subtle, like a fraternity symbol that's doesn't SCREAM APhiA.
|
Well, I know my guy doesn't have French cuffed shirts, so I guess that's out of the question.

I love cuff links.
I have to admit that I LOL'd when I read the OP's question. I do not like the fraternity cufflinks that I've seen. |
French cuffs were made for cuff links! That means, that there was extra shirt sleeves that were folded over to take them. I had a ton of very nice links and some old fashiomned pealed ones from my heretaqge!
Then there the convertable sleeves that had both buttons and slits in the cuffs. You could do either one. Classy, yes!:( They were worn normally on formal occasions or if you worked in the Rag business as I did with Macy's. Fashion was a prime thing. Funny thing, I always loved the plastic flower that I pinned on each morning!;) Today that has gone by the way side as shortsleves are worn today! Well if they ever wear them. |

A symbol would be less subtle, depending on the symbol. Some symbols would be cheesy in cufflinks. |

[But as long as there are guys who wear ties with tshirts, there can be guys who try to wear cufflinks with button sleeves. :p] |
Ok, my response is gonna get a little weird, so just believe me. I have a traditional Norwegian dress that is worn with a blouse under it. I have cuff links that I wear with it, so I was trying to think of how that relates to shirts my boyfriend wears...haha ok, sorry for such a weird tangent.
Anyway, cuff links are out of the question now. Anyone got a good anniversary gift idea? (I totally won't be offended if you ignore that question. hehe) |

What types of things does he enjoy doing? How does he dress? Those types of questions go into what you should get him. Also I believe MSN is one of a few sites that have anniversary ideas. :) |
I love the random "stories" that MSN has! Haha so random.
Anyway, my blouse doesn't have any other fastening things. It has a kind of V-neck with a collar. The sleeves are attached with cuff link and the top is fastened with decorative pins. He really likes history and reading, but he has a million books so I'm not going to go there. I would get him a watch, but he already has one. |
Don't give up yet!
Get a shirt AND cuff links. Sooooo cool - I always think shirts with French cuffs are tres elegant!
