My badge

I received my badge today!

I like it so much. I like its size. I like how the center of the Theta looks like a compass needle. I like the layout.

Can I wear it for non-Greek related functions? I'm just fascinated by my beautiful badge.

As far as I know, as long as you are dressed in "badge attire" and in a respectable setting, you can wear your badge, Greek function or not.

YAY! I absolutely think our badge is one of the most beautiful to be found.

I usually don't wear my badge outside of ritual or other greek events, but yes, as long as you are in badge attire it should be fine. You're not supposed to wear any other jewelry with it, however, except studs in your ears and I would imagine a ring.

When I was pledging, my pledge sisters and I thought it would be nice if we dressed up once a week and wore our pledge pins during the day. :)

And NPC Badge Day is coming up sometime soon, I think. Definitely wear it then!

NPC Badge Day is on the 5th of March. If the occassion permits, you bet I will wear my beautiful badge.

Just a heads up, that sounds like it may be a rule that your chapter has adopted on its own. I don't believe it is a national Theta Phi Alpha policy. The 2007 manual doesn't mention anything about the badge with other jewelry (except in regard to its position compared to other jewelry or badges, like Order of Omega, and guards). If there has been an update, please let us know!

However, my own personal opinion is that it is kind of nice when the badge isn't competing with tons of other jewelry (especially since I mostly wear silver).

ps, In case anyone is wondering the 2007 Handbook of National Policies can be found in the Forms section of the Members Area on the national website. The policy on use of insignia is on page 18.

I believe it is stated somewhere in the ritual book.

wearing your badge

hi there.... here are the official answers to clarify about badge attire - hope this helps . You may wear your badge as long as your are in badge attire which normally means at least business casual. You are not allowed to wear your badge with denim. Your badge is supposed to be worn above every other piece of jewelry you are wearing. You may wear rings, etc while wearing your badge. Hope this helps clarify. yitbos, Penguinkat
