Candidate Matchmaker

Fox has this "quiz" on each of their local websites. Plug in your views on the different issues and it will rank each presidential candidate by matching their views to yours.

I ranked highest with Clinton, followed very closely by Obama. Edwards was third.

It seems better than the one linked here earlier that basically just matched the rhetoric.

I still think it's a little flawed because for some areas there are actual votes that the candidates made while in office (which I think really does tell you something) and for others, you are at the mercy of believing the rhetoric they've floated.

McCain is probably a very good example of a guy who if you just listened to what he said and never looked at what he actually did in office, you'd have a very inaccurate understanding of what he might be likely to do in the future. But since this matchmaker does look at votes he made, he's going to be held to a very different standard than Huckabee who we just have to take his word for what he actually supports in a lot of areas. But is Huckabee really any more likely to stick to things once he's in office? Who knows?

This one also has the drawback of not letting you weigh how important a particular issue is to you like you can in real life. I may be closer to Hunter in some area, but if it's not one of my primary areas of concern. . .
