Chanel Letters

I was initiated this last semester. My big and I are both obsessed with Chanel. She was in California one day and saw a girl wearing Chanel letters and told me about them. We were both so excited.

However, we can not find them anywhere. She tried to get them for me for initiation but she couldn't find them and I have been looking everywhere as well.

I would really like to get her some as a thank you for everything. If anyone knows where I could find them or can help that would be amazing.

Thank you!

Probably on some street corner in New York City. Look for the Made in China label.

I'm sure if they were authentic, Neimans or a Chanel boutique would have it.

Nutbrnhair, Benzgirl, please stop.

Sigkapash, I've not seen Chanel letters nor does a Google search turn up anything. I'd say your best bet is to find Chanel fabric and get letters made from them. I'd check ebay for the fabric. I'm not a big ebayer so there might be letters on there though I'm not seeing them.

Good luck!

This isn't meant to flame the OP in any way as I'm just stating an opinion...

But is it just me? Whenever I see letters with trademarked logos on sorority letters, I can't help but cringe. And then I think about the Louis Vuitton wedding.

Drolefille 01-04-2008 06:58 PM

It's not my thing either, though I think there's a big difference from patterned letters to that wedding *shudder*

But then I'm not really a "couture" kind of girl either.

I like Coach and Gucci and Chanel (to an extent), but for some reason it kinda takes away from the letters, and to me the letters don't really stand out.

Are companies even allowed to carry such patterns, though? I'm no legal expert, but I'm guessing trademark infringement might be an issue?

My point above before Drole took a kick at me. You cannot copy the patterns at all. That is why whenLV knockoffs are confiscated, they are burned.

OP, Do youg big a favor. Buy her a really cool pair of Chanel vintage earrings.

Drolefille 01-04-2008 07:09 PM

Eh, I have no interest in any of them. My purses come from Kohls or TJ Maxx and I just don't see the point in spending money on a name.

I've only ever seen them on eBay where tons of questionable things exist anyway. Where do they get the fabric in the first place? That's my question. If they're purchasing it legally, I don't know why they can't sell it as "X fabric letters" or whatever. It'd only be infringement if they're fake. Cannibalizing other items for the fabric would be more questionable, but still legal for sale I'd think. (IANAL of course).

I don't think she meant she wanted to create her own faux Chanel pattern. And I only said something because I felt she was being treated like a troll in our forum.

thank you!
and thanks for standing up for me lol.

i saw gucci, lv, and coach on another website so i figured they would have them somewhere.
i wanted her to have something that not many other people have with letters because its hard to be different when everyone goes to the same websites.

Chanel fabric, I'm not familiar with, I don't even know if it exists, but that'd be your best bet.

Do check eBay for letters and thing, and go to a fabric store! You can make anything into letters and get them sewn onto a hoodie or a T-shirt. My (real) little sister has Disney Princess Tri Delta letters among several others.
