phi mu in macon

hey ladies!!!

i hail from good ol macon, ga!!! and what i was thinking about doing was possibly starting/restarting a chapter in macon. phi mu and adpi have such a history in macon, it's kinda hard to go anywhere and NOT find somebody that wasn't a phi mu or adpi.

i've talked with hq and the school i attend about starting a chapter, hq was obviously thrilled with this idea of getting another chapter in macon. however, the school i am attending has some reservations.

i also have a few friends in phi mu at mercer and they're completely gung ho for opening up another chapter in macon since this is where it all got started. :-)

the only problem is i have this feeling the dean of the school is anti greek, for whatever reason, i just had this feeling after i got done talking to him :-(

if yall have any advice feel free to pm me or post up here.

sending yall great wishes for 2008 from *freezing cold* macon ga

I lived in Macon for ten years -- what other college is there (other than Mercer) besides Wesleyan?

First Google hit, I'm assuming this is what she's talking about.

She said that it was a former 2-year. She also said that it is still primarily a feeder college for SEC schools...in which case, I can't see it being a good idea to set up NPCs there that are prevalent at SEC schools, because they'll have people enrolling, rushing, then transferring to SEC schools to be in the "top tier" sororities. I know it doesn't always work out that smoothly, but that idea would absolutely cross several minds.

ETA: According to their Student Handbook:In order to obtain and maintain official recognition as an RSO, all MSC student organizations must:Present evidence that its membership is open to all eligible students, regardless of race, national origin, color, sex, age, religion, or disability.

I doubt Greek life is going to fly there for several reasons...that being the primary one.

yep. so mercer is to remain the only social greek school at this point, unless wesleyan decides to reinstate it.

oh well it was worth a shot.

January 2008. You wanted to start a Phi Mu chapter then but you claim you were initiated in AGD Fall 2007 at UGA.
