Texas/Florida Chapters

I will soon be moving, but I'm not sure to which state. I've had my sights set on a few schools and chapters in Texas and Florida.. But I'm stumped. I know how much Alpha Xi Delta has improved my college experience, and I want to be sure that I continue including it. The college I'm currently enrolled in has two small campuses 30 miles apart, an extremely small Greek life and no house. I'm interested in a large school with a large house for our bonds to strengthen within, a large Greek life and amazing girls (well duh, and that isn't hard to find:p). I'm interested in knowing about the chapters in these two states. Any insight I would really appreciate! :)

Are you in college for an education or for a fulfilling Greek experience? Is this the basis for your moving to the yet, unknown state?

Is that a sarcastic question? Of course I am concerned about my education, I have kept a high GPA and am very motivated to continue in my major. The basis of my moving is that my parents are moving, and I'm also not happy with the college I'm at right now. If it weren't for my sisters I would have moved a long time ago. Now my parents are moving to Florida. My dad lives in Virginia, my sister lives in Colorado and my brother lives in New Jersey. My very old and not very capible aunt that I'm very close with lives in Texas and I would possibly move out closer to her. I'm just looking for some insight so it might help me make my decision...

It wasn't a sarcastic question. If you look at your original post from the point of view of someone who doesn't know your situation, it can easily be viewed that Greek Life is the purpose of your transfer. The additional information helps others help you.

Okay but pardon my correction; this is a Greek Life chat forum.. It is not related in a major way to academics and in no way was I asking for an opinion about academics, or the reason for my transfer. And you were of no help to me other than me feeling as though I had to defend myself.. So thank you for that.. And forgive me for catching a sarcastic tone in your question, I do go to college to get an education.

Moving on, any helpful advice?

It has been many years since I was on campus, but Alpha Xi has a beautiful house at Texas State University. HTH.
