Predictions for BCs national title game?

LSU 42 OSU 17

chitownxo 12-26-2007 05:52 PM

LSU 35, OSU 31

As bad as the Big 10 was this year, according to the (good, non-crackpot) computer rankings and projection systems I've seen, the two teams are almost exactly evenly matched - this means the real difference between the two of them, on the whole, is that it's a home game for LSU.

That's about a 3-pt swing, so I'll go with something like 28-24 LSU . . . OSU should probably be able to run the ball at least a little (assuming they stay away from or double Dorsey) and their LBs should be able to contain a little, so I don't see the scoring getting too ridiculous unless LSU gets momentum early and the crowd lets them turn it into a rout. Should be an interesting match up.

LSU put up 49 against Va Tech, I don't seen anyone other than another SEC team stopping their offensive attack.

Ohio State has had quite a bit of experience with their new cheer:

"We're #2, We're #2!!!"

Please excuse me, I thought this thread discussed only two schools, but...as for my wonderful alma mater...well, the football team didn't lose a single game. :p

I'm not predicting an Ohio State win, but either way I don't think it will be a rout.

Remember that this was supposed to be the proverbial "rebuilding" year for the Buckeyes. Not bad considering that.

Last year wasn't a rebuilding year and they got trounced. We'll see if Tressel tries that lame attempt at a Tampa two like he did last year, it will be the end of him.

Fratty McFrat-Fratt,

I dislike OSU being in the national title game just because they beat up on the cupcakes in the Big Ten all year. LSU should be playing a team with athletes like Georgia or USC. OSU has some great players in Wells, Jenkins, and Lauranaitis but as the game drags on and the subs start to come in it becomes obvious that if you want to have great athletes you must recruit from warm weather climates.

I'm just tired of Fratty's bloated pompousness. He thinks he is a person that everyone admires and comes to for advise.

ETA: Pretty soon he will be giving advise like McEarpus

I've been televising football for over thirty years, and if there's one thing I've learned it is that anything can happen in any given game.

If you don't believe it, look at all of the upsets during the season.

That's why I don't make predictions.

Anyone who makes a prediction on the basis of which conference is "strongest" is nuts. "Strongest" is a moving target based on a lot of variables.

The BCS "Championship" game this year will pit two teams with the same record -- both of whom were ranked number one and were upset.

I just hope it's a game that lives up to the BCS hype.
