Going to Austria...

Hi everyone. I'm going to Austria this September for three weeks and I was wondering if any of you have ever been there or if you know of any places I should definately visit or not visit. Thanks.

Vienna, of course - an absolute must! And - I am serious - go to the opera, not the one that looks lige a stack of seashells http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
DON'T miss several of the most beautiful coffeehouses ("Kaffeehaeuser"), like the "Cafe Central" or, very original, the "Cafe Havelka". Ask for them in Vienna, they are known.
Then, try Salzburg with it's castle and a wonderful old town. And if you can make it to the "Hohen Tauern" a mountain range with peaks close to 12000feet, try to go hiking there. The wine from the area around the Danube river ("Wachau" area) is very good, too.
Have fun, it is a gorgeous country!

I was there last summer, although we spent most of the trip in Germany. I would recommend checking out Salzburg. We took a guided tour of the city...it was well worth it. It's a very beautiful city.

Make sure you go to the Hotel Sacher (pronounced ZA-HA) and eat their world famous chocolate cake, Sacher Torte. It's yummy-licious!! That is in Vienna. Also, you should try to rent and watch Amadeus, cause Austria is where Mozart came from! A little history for you!
