To drop or not to drop....

Ok....I will make this a simple one (even AF won't find this too 'dramatic'...heh)

If you decided to relocate and was dating someone that you knew you were bound to break off with (because for good reasons, the relationship wasn't going anywhere anyways....) especially since it was around this time of year, when would be a good time to initiate the breakup...before or after presents were exchanged?

**wink**

Before.
At least, it would be nice if they had done it before. I spent a lot on a gift for my then bf of two years and he broke up with me Christmas day.
Not before or after, but the same day.

Now, if you're doing it? You could be nice and give the present but what's the point? You want to start moving and another reminder of them doesn't help.

I agree. I've been in situations like that before, myself. I just think it's the right thing to do if you know it's over.

I probably would have been able to see that it wasn't going anywhere long before we established a close enough relationship to exchange gifts with each other. So I would have cut it off long before.

DaemonSeid, are you about to kick your girl to the curb? :D

how long you been with old girl? are you doing holidays at each other houses with families?

not that i have any experience with these things, but why not wait til after the new year? not only are you breaking up with her but shes probably going to want to know why you didnt mention this "relocation" thing before. it's not something you do on a whim... which will let her know that you prolly been thinking about splitting up for a while...

man, enjoy the holiday and save that ish for 08 lol.

Yeah. Nothing ruins Christmas and New Years like a break up. Give it a little time, unless you want to be mean, then do it tomorrow morning. And turn your phone off, shut down your voice mail etc.
