Al Gore...

Am I the only one that finds the fact this hypocritical ass clown can win the Nobel PEACE Prize as ridiculous? Now come on, I didn't realize that his absolutely intriguing (notice the sarcasm) documentary ended a conflict or created peace. If anything he brought a conflict between two different factions of people to the limelight, people that think global warming is happening and those that don't.

Gore is a joke and needs to take his private jet (which emits much more harmful gas to the atmosphere than any SUV) and crash it.

Paging tippiechick...

Alfred Nobel would be crying. But this award went to hell in a handbasket many years ago. It is now competing with the "Person of the Year" or the "People's Choice" awards.

This was announced back in mid-October. Why are you just getting your panties in a bunch about it now?

That conflict is really only a major issue within the USA... and okay Alberta, and despite his pompous self-promoting he did manage to bring the importance of the Climate Change issue to the forefront so I can't fault him for that - the peace arguement comes from the fact that curbing or fighting Climate Change is promoting peace by eliminating or mitigating the environmentally based causes of conflict.

Besides the Nobel has more to do with global issues than American domestic political crap, so really who cares if a bunch of head-in-the-sand conservatives/libertarians get their panties in a bunch.

I agree. When Yasir Arafat won it was pretty clear the whole thing is run by elitist anti-Semitic European trash with unashamedly overt political agendas.

The Nobel prize is a joke. I think we can all agree that scooter libby deserved it.

southernfrat 12-19-2007 05:21 AM

I am bringing it up because nobody else has brought this up. I cannot believe that someone receives a monetary and prestigous award for this nonsense. If this is the case than Steven Segal deserves a Peace prize for his amazing performances in the thrillers Fire Down Below and On Deadly Ground.

That's just not true.

I started this thread in October for people to discuss the subject. Try using the search function.

You are most likely not the only one, but you still sound like an idiot.

Perhaps the Nobel Peace prize is a whole other animal from what it should be or was. However, Al Gore has brought a very newsworthy topic to the mainstream media, does he deserve a Nobel Prize, well that's debatable, but it happened. You make it sound like those who believe global warming exist and those that don't are going to break into war like Sunni and Shi'ite's.

Does this really effect your life? Get over it.

That is the point when I lost all respect for this supposed award that is supposed to honor peace and humanity. None of which that man stood for!!!
