big/little ceremonies
so we've discovered a really sad problem in our chapter... somewhere along the changing of hands, they've lost our chapter's big/little ceremony... since i'm the ritual chair, its up to me to write a new one (with imput from the chapter of course) but i was wondering if anyone minded sharing some of their big/little traditions... :)

Our bigs always gave the littles a candle and a paddle.
For the actual ceremony, I thought we got that from AlphaNet - I'm not sure where that stuff is now. |
YAY good news!!! our mem. ed randomly had a hard copy of the ritual...very strange considering none of our rituals are backed up on disks (something im changing)...so i have no idea where she got it, but i no longer need to re-write it! :)

I would check with headquarters before transcribing any rituals. I don't think that one would be approved.
Also, speak with your Education Coaching Team Member about ritual equipment storage. I know they would be glad to help you out! |

For all:
Big/little is not a ritual. You might have chapter traditions that have been followed but traditions aren't the same as rituals. There is a thing that used to be done in pledging that could have contained big/little stuff that isn't done anymore. (I know everyone is loving this cryptic post) When I'm at home I'll check things out and be able to give you a better answer. |
i'm only transcribing ceremonies---not rituals, there's no need for that as long as we have ritual books... i'm simply preserving chapter traditions so that they dont get lost...like our big/little almost did. so im sorry--i didnt mean to call it a ritual in some post above me...
alphafrog---could nationals provide us with a trunk for storing our ritual stuff? we have one, but its falling apart and it no longer has a lock (so all our important stuff is securely hidden with me lol) |
Contact Leah Dooley Eickhoff on SisterCircle. She's the Team Leader of the National Ritual Coaching Team.:) She's also a really great person - she was one of our Advisors.;)
