TSA and Champagne
I did a search and didn't find any threads.
I will be traveling the last weekend this month and will be carrying a bottle of the bubbly-bubbly. I didn’t see this on the TSA website so I thought I would ask here, us being college edu-macated and all:p. Can I declare this at security? I'm flying first class too so I don’t know if that makes a difference (Since I get to skip the long security line). Should I just check it in or carry on? Thanks guys http://smilieshq.com/smilies/party0014.gif |

Check it... don't be this guy:
Man Drinks Liter of Vodka at Airport Line 2 days ago BERLIN (AP) — A man nearly died from alcohol poisoning after quaffing a liter (two pints) of vodka at an airport security check instead of handing it over to comply with new carry-on rules, police said Wednesday. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5j...5qJDwD8TG22000 |

DolphinChicaDDD should be the one to tell you this story, but I figure she won't mind. Poor DolphinChicaDDD was scheduled to fly back home the day of (or the day after) the London incident that prompted the TSA to start those new carry-on policies. She purchased an nice bottle of wine from the Maui vineyard she visited, only to surrender it to security because a) she couldn't fit it into her suitcase (she spent the whole summer here) and b) you can't ship that stuff. I'm glad she didn't chug it like Vodka man. |
...Or you could make sure it is wrapped and padded really good and put it with your items to go under the plane. I've done that and had no problems;). But if you try to carry it on they will take that from you and have drinks on you later that night...lol.

Thanks, I REALLY appreciate the info.:) I would have been highly upset to lose my bubbly
