Okay, I really hope this hasnt been posted before. I'm sure most of you have probably received this in an email but OMG, it's the best engagement (and most expensive may I add! lol) That I have seen in a very long time!

Okay, this is about a Greek guy (Omega) from Southern University. Its not funny, but its the BEST dern engagement I've seen in a long time.

This is the story, The guy told his fiance that they were having a party for her brother at the Ritz Carlton, he rented 10 rooms. Ya'll just have to watch te video shoot! There will be tears!

Velocity_14 12-14-2007 04:09 PM

Awwww, this was sweet. April 28, 2007 was special for SO MANY reasons;)! This was beautiful!

This was the first time I've seen this. Thank you for sharing it.

christiangirl 12-14-2007 07:59 PM

I've been emailed this a million times, but only just recently watched it. Is it just me, or did the girl NOT look happy in a lot of those photos toward the end? She seemed more sad than overcome with emotion.

nittanyalum 12-15-2007 12:11 AM

That is BEAUTIFUL photography.

This is the most fabulous thing I've ever seen. All those roses and rose petals were breathtaking. And I love how involved all the family and friends were. Must have taken some SERIOUS planning to pull all that off.

That is one lucky girl.

ETA: And pardon the crash! :)

What I saw was the building up of emotions. I think she was just overwhelmed.

ULMChicky 12-16-2007 12:25 PM

I apologize that it had been posted before,

ETA: I'm so happy that everyone got a chance to see it that hasn't already. This is the full story, and it is actually very beautiful. Especially the meaning behind the song that was played and the symbolizim(sp?) of the roses.

Glad you all enjoyed.

Subject: The proposal

You gotta see how this brotha proposed to his girl. Read the paragraph

below and then click on the link preceding the paragraph to view the

slideshow. The site has received so many hits that it may take a moment

for the slide presentation to display but it is well worth the wait.

This guy Rob said God was unfolding a vision in his life over the span

of about a year and then he put faith to feet and made it happen. Rob

and Keisha dated for about 4 years. And he knew that she was the

one...but he had to save up for all that God had prompted him to do for

her. So in short what you are about to see happen on April 28th....he

rented out 10 rooms in the Ritz Carlton in buckhead and invited about

50-60 people to be there for this special night...Keisha had to go from

room to room and in each room were people who were special to

them....his boy s...her girls...her Bible Study group....his

parents...her parents..etc. and everybody in each room had questions

that she had to answer to be able to move to the next room and before

she left each room the people there would pray over her....so you have

to watch each room to see how that goes...he chose roses because Keisha

aunt who passed suddenly loved roses and he bought some of the dipped

in gold because of the stories in the Bible about Solomon and how

everything was dipped in gold and the song that you hear playing in the

background was the same song that was played at Keisha aunts funeral,

she was like a second mom to Keisha.

When Rob was asked what he was thinking and how it felt...he said

that he was kicking and screaming all the way. not because he did not

love Keisha and want to marry her....but because of the time, money,

and stress that was spent doing this. Rob, put his house up for rent

and saved for her ring and this night and he did it out of obedience...

I have spent the past year of my life piecing together a vision given

to me by God. On April 28th, 2007 that vision was fulfilled.

My labor of love for the woman I love.

Brought me to tears

I have seen this at least twice...so moving! Being a single woman-I am waiting on God to bring my KING. You know that I put a little plug in that he be an OMEGA..(LOL)!

Low C Sharp 12-17-2007 08:06 PM

I guess I'm the only one raining on the parade, but when I looked at the pictures, I figured this guy was some kind of rich mogul with lots of cash on hand. Then I read this:

"put his house up for rent and saved for her ring and this night"

Wait a minute, you're not rich? And GOD told you to take out ten rooms at the Ritz and buy a big diamond? How many thousands of dollars did you spend that could have been your next house, your kids' college fund, or even given to the church? Would this evening have been diminished if you'd gathered all her loved ones in ten rooms at the Holiday Inn? I'd love someone to do this for me IF HE COULD AFFORD IT. But if my man took a year to save up five figures and blew it all in one night...I'd think his economic judgment was not compatible with mine.

I know I can't say what God did or didn't tell anybody else to do. I wasn't there. But I think that if you get a message from God telling you to conspicuously consume, you should think about whether you've been watching too many diamond commercials.

THANK YOU!!! I was tryin' not to say anything, but honestly, this man seems so wasteful to me...after the engagement, what money do they have left for a wedding? A place to live? Shoot, he could've rented out a small section of the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, tricked the place out with Christmas lights and gathered their families there--the starlight would've made it just as beautiful. I wish them well, but it looks like they aren't getting married for a good few years after all this. I mean, I wouldn't have turned him down after all that, but I'd be pretty upset once the shock wore off.

Neosoulchild 12-22-2007 03:02 PM

How can we make judgments about what God did or did not tell this man to do? Seems like this judgment is based off of one sentence. We don't know the whole story, and we definitely don't know the effect that this video has had on all the people who see it. How do we know God wasn't using this couple to affect the lives of the thousands of people who view the video? It was definitely too extravagant for my taste, but that doesn't mean God didn't tell him to do it.

Very nice video.
