New Chapter Positions/Officers

Hello all!!

We here at Alpha Delta Eta chapter (SUNY Albany) have experience lots of growth in the past few semesters. Although our membership has changed dramatically, our structure hasn't. I was interested in adding new positions within the chapter to help keep people more involved and keep the chapter more organized. Below is a list of all of our current chapter officers. I'd love to hear from everyone about positions that work in your chapters, or changes we can make to improve ours.

LFS,
Jonathan

OK, two splits that I've seen take place as groups get larger officers. First, the secretary's job gets split into recording and corresponding secretaries. Secondly, add a Parlimentarian to split the job of the S@A.

To echo Randy's ideas, a couple of things we have in Alpha Delta Delta are a Rush chair and two Assistant Pledge Trainers.....these are all appointed positons in our chapter. Also, our S@A serves as our scouting liason, since he's also an Eagle Scout, so if you have an ES in your chapter, you might consider that. The S@A also serves as our "ritual chair", taking care of all things relating to inductions and inititation, but if the chapter is large enough, you could add that position as well.

Agree with Randy's post, and would add the following.

Alumni Secretary- keep in contact with your alumni
Rush chair- can be either elected or appointed. This is a good short term (2-3 weeks job)
Assistant Pledge Trainers- as a co-ed Fraternity, it can be a good idea to have atleast one assistant pledge trainer of a different gender from your pledge trainer.
Scouting Service Chair- again, either elected or appointed. Should be someone who was a former scout, and would work with your Scouting Advisor to develop your scouting service work. Good idea to give them a committee with people from different scouting backgrounds (Boy Scout, Girl Scout, Camp Fire, etc), to help work with different groups. If you do a large, annual, scouting event, put these people in charge of it.
Fundraising chair- could split off this duty from the Treasurer if you do a good deal of fundraising.

Also, my wife suggests as a separate office, Newsletter Editor...
